The following documents are required for the * civil marriage *:
- birth certificate issued by the municipal Registry Office;
- declaration of parents or whoever exercises the parental authority, in which it is stated that there are no impediment to the marriage;
- cumulative single status certificate, domicile and citizenship certificate issued on stamped paper by the municipality of residence ;
- widowers must produce the official death certificate of the spouse;
- for the divorced, the act of the previous marriage is required;
- when the spouses are minors, it is also needed the permission of the Juvenile Court.

The following documents are required for the * religious marriage *:
- certificate of baptism;
- certificate of confirmation;
- ecclesiastical single status certificate (used to demonstrate that those who requested of it are not already married);
- certificate of attendance to the training courses on marriage (compulsory for the engaged couples who wish a religious rite);
- colloquy with the parish priest;
- only when the religious publications are posted in the parishes of origin of the spouses, along with the publications posted in the town hall, the future spouses are allowed to set the date of the religious marriage.

curiosita_m2The religious marriage has civil effects. The priest, as for the marriage in town hall, read some paragraphs of the Code at the end of the ceremony. The recording of the act is in charge of the parish where the rite takes place and must be made within 5 (five) days from the date of marriage.

The * European marriage *
European citizens who wish to get married in Italy must produce a statement from the consulate or Embassy of origin, stating that there is no impediment to the marriage. The rule is also applied to non-EU citizens. There is a European form of marriage (from which England and Scandinavian countries are currently excluded), which allows the automatic recording of the act in the country of origin of both spouses.

- A licensed marriage of 15 (fifteen) days is entitled by law, even in case of a second marriage;
- Weddings via Internet can be celebrated, even if they do not have yet legal value.

- Look after the documents required for marriage in the town hall and parish.

6 monthes before... For her
- Choose the wedding gown.

3 monthes before... For both
- Contact the photographer, the florist for decorations and the bouquet;
Order the wedding rings;
- Order wedding cards and invitations.
- Book your honeymoon.

2 monthes before... For both
- Deposit the wedding list.
- Send the wedding cards and order the bonbonnière.
- Set the menu of the lunch.

2 monthes before... For her
- Try on the wedding gown and choose the accessories, the shoes, the make-up and hairstyle.

2 monthes before... For him
- choose the wedding suit.

2 weeks before... For her
- Now or never the dress must be straight.
- Check the arrival of the bonbonnière.

2 weeks before... For him
- Book the car for the bride.
- Collect the wedding rings from the jeweller.

2 days before... For her
- Delivery of the dress, that should be checked and refreshed

The day before

- Check the decorations and reception party. Think about the departure to the honeymoon

The day before... For her
- Confirm the appointments for the day of the cerimony (hairdresser and chauffeur
- Get the photographer to arrive at least three hours in advance.

The big day

- The photographer must arrive at the house of the bride three hours before the beginning of the cerimony

- Make sure that the bouquet has been delivered to the bride.
